Call for Papers: Eduardo Mendieta and His Philosophical Legacy — Inter-American Journal of Philosophy Special Issue
Submit philosophical research on Eduardo Mendieta’s work, Latin American philosophy, ethics, political philosophy, and critical theory.
The issue honors the work and intellectual legacy of Eduardo Mendieta (1963–2025), a prominent Latin American and Latinx philosopher whose research contributed to ethics, political philosophy, Latin American philosophy, Latinx philosophy, philosophy of race, and related fields.
Research Theme
This special issue aims to examine Eduardo Mendieta's philosophical contributions and the intellectual traditions that shaped his work, including critical theory, decolonial philosophy, American pragmatism, and philosophical approaches to non-human animals.
Contributions may explore Mendieta's writings, philosophical methods, and influence on contemporary philosophical scholarship.

Submission Guidelines
Authors should submit original manuscripts prepared for blind review.
Submission deadline: 30 August 2026
Maximum length: Preference will be given to manuscripts no longer than 30 pages or 7,500 words
Format: Microsoft Word document
Formatting: Double-spaced throughout, 12-point Times Roman, ragged right
Review format: Manuscripts must not contain self-identifying references
Submissions should follow the journal's formatting requirements, including U.S. style punctuation, limited formatting, and specified conventions for dates, numerals, and page ranges.
Publication
Accepted contributions will be published in the special issue "Eduardo Mendieta and His Philosophical Legacy" of the Inter-American Journal of Philosophy, Fall 2026 (Volume 17, Issue 2).
