The integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare has transformed global health, creating new opportunities as well as ethical challenges. As these technologies become increasingly embedded in clinical practice and public health strategies, attention to their ethical implications is essential.
Recent developments have highlighted the need for algorithmic transparency and accountability and inclusive approaches to AI that prioritize health equity. Researchers are encouraged to contribute to more equitable healthcare systems that respect patient rights and foster trust in digital health technologies. Embedding ethical considerations at the forefront of digital innovation is critical to ensuring that emerging technologies do not reinforce existing health inequities.
The Collection focuses on the intersection of digital determinants and ethical AI, with particular attention to informed consent, algorithmic transparency, patient autonomy, and healthcare equity.

All manuscripts submitted to BMC Medical Ethics, including those submitted to collections and special issues, are assessed in accordance with the journal's editorial policies and peer-review process.
