The Special Issue welcomes empirical, theoretical, methodological, and review contributions addressing topics including:
Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions
Individual differences in social cognition
Language and interaction
Embodied and ecological approaches to mentalizing
Innovative assessment methods
Cognitive heterogeneity within and across diagnostic categories
Mentalizing and Theory of Mind across neurodevelopmental conditions
Submission
Researchers interested in contributing should send a provisional title and a 300–400-word abstract to paola.pennisi@unime.it.
Abstract deadline: 18 October 2026
Preliminary decisions will be communicated by 2 November 2026.
Full manuscript deadline: 30 May 2027
Publication is expected in July 2027.
Manuscripts in English are especially encouraged.
